An ENFP from California writes in:

My husband broke his foot and I’ve been in charge of everything around the house, and not only have to care for my toddler but now also my husband. I’ve found I now have a lack of patience and I feel cranky all the time.

  • Sandra explains that ENFPs (along with INFJs, INTJs and ENTPs) are called “Dominant intuitives” and these 4 types tend to be the most exhausted by those practical, physical tasks involved with caring for yourself and others.
  • Tips:
    • outsource (hard during covid)
    •  figure out what you can let go of
    • what fills you up and make sure you’re getting that everyday

Emerson describes:

How she and her daughter (both with a preference for Introversion) recharge by hiding under blankets, to the point where her husband will just slide snacks under their blanket hide-outs for them! Emerson also recently went to a sensory deprivation tank and found it incredibly refreshing (minus the swimmer’s ear she now has from it).

  • Sandra explains the 80/20 concept, that we’re happiest when we can spend 80% of our time in our most natural preferences and only 20% of our time stretching. It can be really hard when all family members are home and Introverts are spending 100% of their time around other people.

Sandra gets into:

  • Why her INTJ son goes through phases where his answer is “no” to EVERYTHING
    • She explains that INTJs are very independent. The combo of Intuition and Judging gives them a confidence about what they think things should be and a steadfastness towards their ideas. The combo of Thinking and Judging means he doesn’t have a strong drive to do things just for the sake of pleasing mom.
    • Tip: With TJ kids try to give them control and power where you can!
